Uploading with or without subtitles
Overview
Subtitles in the form of .srt
or .vtt
files are incredibly useful for our video translation process and
providing a .srt
or .vtt
file would always be our preferred approach. However, we also appreciate this might
not always be possible. In the situation where a subtitle file is not provided Signapse will automatically generate one for you.
How to send a subtitle file
To send a subtitle file add and additional field into the form request called subtitle
our API will validate that the
file you’re sending us is a file type we can support and will bundle it with your uploaded video for processing.
How to not send us a subtitle file
It’s also possible to send a video without a subtitle file. In this situation simply send the form request with no subtitle attached. Our internal video processing will identify that you haven’t provided a subtitle and will generate one for you.
In situations where we generate a subtitle for you we flag the translation for manual verification this will ensure a member of the Signapse team will verify the subtitles generated match what’s actually being said in the video.
